Priority is the asset allocation – the allocation of the assets over the three main asset categories (Bonds, Stocks, Alternative Investments as shown in the investment pyramid hereunder). According to a long-term study this is the most important factor influencing the success in portfolio management.

The success of the Model results in a very strict discipline with which this concept is handled. Emotions (responsible for most mistakes) are basically cut out; we decide when we enter the market, however the market decides when we leave (stopped out) a position or asset class.
